Artists from Iceland, Estonia and Norway participated in the project DROP THE MIC - Nordic-Baltic Poetry Network in 2018 - 2020. The project was supported by the Nordic Culture Point.
They are slam poets, authors, actors, directors, musicians. All have in common working with the written and spoken/sung word in some way. The group met and worked together in different Cities of Literature in Europe in 2018 and 2019 and were in touch online. As a project, Drop the Mic aimed to connect performing artists that work with words and music from the UNESCO Cities of Literature Lillehammer, Reykjavík, Tartu, Heidelberg and Krakow. The artists taking part in the workshop here (Reykjavík 2019) are: Gunnar Ragnarsson (Iceland), Kolfinna Nikulásdóttir (Iceland), Erik Eikehaug (Norway), Hilde Susan Jægtnes (Norway), Kaisa Kuslapuu (Estonia), Toomas Leppik (Estonia) and Sirle Heinloo (Estonia, taking part through online communication from Tartu).
