Reykjavík Scholastic Children's Literature Prize

Skjaldarmerki Reykjavíkurborgar

The Reykjavík Scholastic Children's Literature Award is awarded by the city's board of education every year, on the last day of winter. Recipients are authors and translators of children's books who have made valuable contributions to that field. The awards' purpose is to highlight the importance of quality literature in the children's education, and the good work being done by Icelandic publishers in those areas.

In 2016 the award merged with Dimmalimm, the Icelandic Illustrators’ Award, and the new award was named The Reykjavík Children’s Book Award.
