Waters and Harbors in the North was a global project involving writers and artists from Reykjavik, Gothenburg, Newcastle and Torshavn in the Faroe Islands. This included the Author Center in Gothenburg, New Writing North in Newcastle, the Nordic House of the Faroe Islands and the Reykjavik City of Literature, UNESCO.
Writers and visual artist from these cities come together and work in four different groups on texts and visual art pieces dedicated to the theme of waters and harbours. The works will be published on the project‘s website, as well as on the webites of the participating institutions before the end of the year.
The writers who participated in the project were Bryndís Björgvinsdóttir, Gunnar Helgason, Jónas Reynir Gunnarsson and Haukur Ingvarsson from Reykjavík, Degna Stone, Laura Steven, Mark Illis and Michael Chaplin from Newcastle, Marjun Syderbø Kjelnæs, Oddfridur Marni Rasmussen, Rakel Helmsdal and Trygvi Danielsen from Farou Islands, Hanna Jedvik, Hanna Wikman, Mattias Hagberg and Stefan Larsson from Gothenburg.
